| | Farmers use hay rakes to cut crops like hay and stray. The cut hay is then passed back into loader wagons, or balers for transporting and compression. Hay rakes have several thin wheels with blades or depth bands on their circumference. These wheels rotate vertically, and are attached to steel rods that are finally attached to the pick up hitch that links it to the tractor. Depending upon sophistication, these rakes are able to keep dirt as well as rocks out of hay that they rake in.
