karta karn soee rajak raheem ohii thoosrou, na bheet koi bool barm maanbo.English translation:Some shave their heads, others never cut their hair, some become yogi, others embrace celibacy, and others become aestics. Some are Hindus, others are Muslims, Some are Shi'ite, some are Sunni. But recognize all as one human race.God is the creator (Karta), the Bestower (Kareem); the Sustainer (Raazak), the Merciful (Raheem). There is no difference (the 4 names are from Hindu and Muslim names of God); to think otherwise would be a mistake. All worship only one God, the supreme Guru of all, and we should regard that form as one and God's essence pervading in all. This is a Sikh Scripture from Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th Guru of the Sikhs.

From essence made by God, men came via nature.
From this one essence all are made, so who is good and who is bad?Bhagat Kabir was a saint from India. He was born to the Muslim faith, but his works are universally respected. His works are also in the Guru Granth Sahib (Page 1349) of the Sikhs and that is where this slok is taken from.
O People, Siblings of Destiny, do not wander deluded by doubt; The creation is in the creator, the Creator in the creation, totally prevading and permeating all places.
| | Universal Prayer (Prayer for All Religions) | | I need help here guys. I was really thinking about formulating a prayer that can be applicable to all religions. Say all kinds off people from different religions were gathered, and you were asked to say the opening prayer, how would you do that in such a way that your prayer would not be one sided, something that can speak to everyone that's present in the gathering.... | |
| | Is There a Universal Standard? | | Currently the Malaysian government has allowed its employees to take 90 days maternity leave. The private sector is still allowing only 60 days. As long as the labour law is not amended, do not expect them to toe the example set by the government. I do understand that the longer the leave an employee takes, it may affect the productivity of the firm as well as its profits. So what is then umber of days allowed for maternity leave in your country? | |
| | What commandments would you want in the one true universal religion? | | Let's start from scratch and design a universal religion for all mankind. One that would unite people instead of dividing them. One that would be fair to all. What would you want in this religion and what would you not want? These are some things that I would want:Thou shalt have only one God.
Thou shalt not murder anyone.
Thou shalt not steal anything.
Thou shalt treat everyone with dignity and respect.
Thou shalt have only one wife and only one husband. What about you?
| | Do you agree that music is the most universal language in the world? | | Music is part of art. Very populair in the world. Every country, place, city always has own music. Music is to be the culture identity. There are many kinds of music in the world. Jazz, reaggae, hip hop, pop. rock, and millions of ethnic music. So does the music equipment. They played by blown, by hit or struck, by drummed, etc. The rythim also different. There is melancholic, sad, happy, cheerfull, religy, etc. But the purpose of the music is always same. Make the life to be harmony. Do you agree with my opinion? Or do you have other opinion else? | |
| | Universal health care is the only Christian option | | The Pennsylvania Hospital that Ben Franklin founded in 1751 has the following inscription: "Take care of him and I will repay thee." For those who are not in the know, this is from the story of the Good Samaritan from the Bible. It's a story that almost all young Christians are told repeatedly. A Jewish man is robbed and beaten, left for dead on the side of the road. Two men pass him by, but a third stops. This man is a Samaritan. The tensions between Jews and Samaritans were very well known at the time. However, this Samaritan tends to his wounds, takes him to an inn with the instructions to further care for the man, and pays for his bills. This is a lesson that teaches us how to be neighbors to our fellow man. In other words, we should show mercy on our fellow men, take care of our fellow men. It is a spiritual call to care for other people when we can...and even when we can't. It seems odd to me that people in America who claim that we are a Christian nation, who get upset about the removal of the nativity scene and Christmas tree from the public square, are also those who are most actively against the lessons that Jesus teaches us in the Good Samaritan. In theory, if... | |
| | | Have You Ever Thought Of Buying A Universal Remote Control? | | Personally, I hate remote control devices. We have them for everything, don't we? From controlling our televisions, VCRs (yes, we still have one lol), DVD players, hi-fi units. They are everywhere. From a clutter-free perspective I find the idea of having a Universal Remote Control very appealing...but do they work? I also find they are rather expensive too. | |
