Conversation on black decker cultivator
Black & Decker vs Mr Coffee or Bunn
I have a cheaper model Black & Decker coffee maker, my daughter has a little better one. I do not like the way they are set up. On mine, the top leaks every time I take the pot out to get a cup of coffee. On hers, the pot leaks when I pour coffee into my cup! I think they have some major design issues!I think I prefer a regular old Mr. Coffee or even a Bunn coffee maker. Do you have any issues with coffee makers? Do you have a preferred one?
Shame on Black & Decker!
A few months back my toaster oven broke. Because we use it quite often I decided I needed a new one. I don't remember the brand of our old one, but it served us well for about 6 years. At the store I found so many brands and different models - which in reality are all basically the same thing and serving the same purpose -. I used price as a guide as well as how much space it had - since we need a bigger one - and how nice it looked ( I know irrelevant, but I'm allowed one irrelevant choice LOL - I had read a few reviews before and when I saw that special Black & Decker model I liked it. It was roomy - big enough for all of us - it seemed to have what we needed. Ok, it was not the cheapest one, but it wasn't too expensive either, so I bought it. It's not bad. It's not like it doesn't work or anything. But I can't believe that the numbers and little lines that mark everything on the front started disappearing in less of a month!!!! I know that I have it over the stove so it does get some grease from cooking, but one day I'm cleaning it with a soft cloth and the numbers, and even the words ( toast, grill etc ) started rubbing off. Give me a break! What did they right it with?...
and talking of small appliances....
was I talking about small appliances? LOL Funny thing, I usually preferred black & Decker over RCA. But it's always time to change my mind:) At the same time that my toaster over broke, my microwave decided to retire as well - I told you guys, with me, disasters never come alone! -. I decided to go to wallmart and get a new one. Again I was looking for one that could accommodate a meal for 4 people without problems, so it couldn't be too small. Other than that I had no special idea of what I wanted. But I was pleasantly surprised to see a combination microwave grill for a very good price and although I wasn't a big fan of RCA I decided to give it a try. I am quite pleased with it so far. It works very nicely. It's easy to clean. And the grilling part actually comes in handy. I can reheat pizza without it going all soggy on me, even garlic bread comes up pretty nice. And.... BONUS: the letters don't rub off when we clean it - hint hint black & Decker:)
What was your best Xmas gift this year?
My favorite gift was a Senseo Coffee maker. I had a Black & Decker Home Cafe...(generation 1) Boy what a piece of crap that is. It works but its a cheap made product with alot of faults and dangers. I am glad to be rid of it. Generation 2 is supposed to be good but I haven't bothered researching it since now I have my new Senseo....Yeah. What was under your tree?

Update~~Will Still Be Kind Of MIA A Bit Longer
Most of my friends here know that some days ago I posted a discussion indicating that I would be a tad MIA from here. I had ordered a nice new bed for myself..a captain's bed with storage drawers and a mattress. The bed came on Friday and I started working on it on Saturday. The hard part were those dang drawers for some reason and took longer than I thought. The original instructions say DO NOT use a drill to drill in the screws. Well it was taking me like forever to screw in the screws with a Phillips by hand that I said screw it..LOL..so whipped out my trusty Black & Decker and with that it only took seconds to get all those dang screws in.I worked on it some more on Sunday but then had setbacks so couldn't work on it Monday..I had errands to do that took longer and by the time I got home just wasn't up to working on the bed, then yesterday, Tuesday an old knee injury flared up, was in a lot of pain and I was walking around like a decrepit old lady..so nix working on the bed again.Well today..my new mattress came around 10 in the morning...meaning I had to get up early as the company to deliver it was to come between 9 a.m. to 1 p.m....so had to get my arse out of bed...
How much do you mow and how often?
Today was such a beautiful day outside. I really didn't mind that I had to mow the grass....again. Currently I mow about 2 acres every week. It needs it more often, but it's not getting mowed any more often than once a week. Most of it can be mowed with the riding mower which makes it more of a pleasure than a chore. But I have a lot of mowing that I use a push mower for and then I have to use the battery powered weed eater, Black & Decker cordless, which I just love and have used it A LOT!! This is the largest yard so far that I have to mow, I used to mow 1 acre with a push mower, now that's work! How big is your yard and how often do you have to mow it? If the weather were as nice as today all year long, I wouldn't mind doing this year round, but I know winter is coming next.
